Book Our Choir

The Saint Sava Choir can be engaged to sing responses at weddings, christenings, memorial services and funerals. We also accept invitations to perform at cultural events, concerts and festivals.

The St. Sava Choir is here to make your special church service memorable. Whether a wedding service or a memorial service for a recently departed loved one, the choir’s attendance adds an additional layer of music to these liturgies. In essence, the choir acts as the voice of the people and completes a dialogue between the priest and the congregation. Our choir performs all of our services and every song with heartfelt emotion.

Prior to engaging the choir, we suggest that you speak with one of our parish priests, Father Michael Doder or Father Prvoslav Puric to confirm the date of your service. Our wonderfully gifted priests will also guide you with any special details or requests that you may have.

Don’t forget that booking our choir to perform also makes a wonderful gift so you can engage us on behalf of your friends or family member. What an unexpected and meaningful wedding present! Having our choir sing at your special service will not only enhance the prayers of our parish priests, but will also bring meaning and spiritual harmony to the service itself!

Fees:

We’ll even travel and also sing services at the Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Milton! Please inquire about our out-of-town fees.

Our choir also accepts invitations to perform free of charge for significant cultural events and festivals. For more information, or to see if our choir is available for your event, please contact us.

Click to learn more about St. Sava

Saint Sava (1175 or 1176 - January 12, 1235 or 1236), originally the prince Rastko Nemanjic (son of the Serbian king Stefan Nemanja and brother of Stefan Prvovencani, founder of the Serbian medieval state), is the first Serb archbishop (1219-1233) and the most important saint in the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Saint Sava is celebrated as the founder of the independent Serbian Orthodox Church and as patron saint of education and medicine among Serbs. His day is observed on January 27th of the Gregorian calendar (January 14th of the neo-Julian calendar still observed by the Serbian Church). Since the 1830's, Saint Sava has become the patron saint of Serb schools and schoolchildren. On his day, students partake in recitals in church.

The temple of Saint Sava in Belgrade, whose construction was planned in 1939, begun in 1985 and awaits completion by 2004 is the largest active Orthodox temple in the world today.
